Privacy Policy
LDR Traders (“we”, “us”) operates a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) and the website ldrtradersrvsf.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, message us on WhatsApp, or scrap a vehicle with us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it.
We handle your information in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the vehicle-scrapping rules made under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

2. What we collect
Contact and identity information
- Name, mobile number, email address, city or PIN code
- Postal address where the vehicle is parked, and a contact person at that address
- Identity and address proof of the registered owner (for example Aadhaar, PAN, passport, driving licence or voter ID), where this is required by law to issue a Certificate of Deposit or Certificate of Vehicle Scrapping
- A photograph or signature captured at the time the vehicle is handed over
On Aadhaar: we collect it only where a statutory form requires proof of identity, we do not use it as a general customer ID, and we store it masked wherever the form permits. If you would rather give a different ID, ask us.
Vehicle information
- Registration number, make, model, year, fuel type, colour, odometer reading and vehicle class
- Chassis and engine numbers
- Registration Certificate, insurance, hypothecation, pending tax and challan status, and blacklist status — some of which we obtain from the government VAHAN database
- Photographs and videos of the vehicle at survey, at collection, and during depollution and dismantling
- Weight records, parts recovered and materials recovered
Payment information
- Bank account number and IFSC, or UPI ID, of the person we pay
- Cancelled cheque or passbook image where needed to verify the account
- Payment references, receipts and invoices
Technical information
- IP address, browser and device type, operating system, and approximate location derived from IP
- Pages viewed, referring page, time on site, and how you reached us
- Cookie and advertising identifiers (see section 6)
Communications
- Enquiry forms you submit on this website
- WhatsApp messages exchanged with our business number
- Email correspondence, and notes our staff make about a call
3. How we collect it
- Directly from you — website enquiry forms, WhatsApp, phone calls, email, or in person at the facility.
- From your vehicle's documents — the RC and related papers you hand over.
- From government systems — VAHAN and related transport department databases, to verify ownership, hypothecation, dues and blacklist status before we take a vehicle.
- From auction platforms, insurers and fleet sellers — where we acquire a vehicle through an auction lot rather than from an individual owner.
- Automatically — cookies and similar technologies when you browse this website.
4. Why we use it
| Purpose | What we use |
|---|---|
| Respond to your enquiry and quote a price | Contact details, vehicle details |
| Verify that the vehicle can lawfully be scrapped | RC, VAHAN record, owner identity |
| Arrange survey, pickup and custody handover | Address, contact person, photos, signature |
| Pay you | Bank or UPI details, identity proof |
| Issue statutory certificates and file returns | Owner identity, vehicle and weight records |
| Meet pollution-control and record-keeping obligations | Depollution, material and mass-balance records |
| Raise invoices and comply with tax law | Name, address, GSTIN, transaction records |
| Improve the website and measure our advertising | Technical and cookie data |
| Send you service updates about your scrapping job | Mobile number, email |
| Prevent fraud, and defend or bring legal claims | Any of the above, as relevant |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with unrelated companies for their own marketing.
5. Consent and legal basis
Where we rely on your consent — for example when you submit an enquiry form or opt in to marketing messages — that consent is free, specific, informed and limited to the purpose we describe at the point of collection. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to info@ldrtraders.com. Withdrawing consent does not undo processing already carried out, and it does not affect records we are legally required to keep.
Some processing does not depend on your consent because it is a legitimate use under the law or is required of us as an RVSF — for example verifying a vehicle on VAHAN, keeping scrapping records, issuing certificates, or retaining tax invoices. If you withdraw consent for those, we can stop serving you but we cannot delete the statutory record.
6. Cookies and tracking
This website uses cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential — keep the site working, remember form state, and protect against abuse. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics — tell us which pages people read and where they drop off, in aggregate.
- Advertising — the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API let us measure which advertisements lead to enquiries, and show ads to people with similar interests.
Where we send event data to Meta from our own server through the Conversions API, identifiers such as your email address or phone number are hashed with SHA-256 before they leave our system. We never send Meta your vehicle documents, identity documents or bank details.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and your Meta ad preferences through your Facebook or Instagram account. Blocking non-essential cookies will not stop you from using this website or from scrapping a vehicle with us.
7. WhatsApp and phone calls
If you message our WhatsApp business number, your number, profile name and message content are processed by us and by Meta, whose own terms and privacy policy apply to the WhatsApp service. We use those messages to collect your enquiry details and follow up on your job. We may send you service messages about a job you have started. You can stop these at any time by replying STOP or telling us on the call.
8. Who we share it with
- Government authorities — the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, VAHAN, the Regional Transport Office, the Central and State Pollution Control Boards, and tax authorities. This sharing is mandatory and continues regardless of consent.
- Banks and payment providers — to make payment to you.
- Service providers — hosting, cloud storage, email delivery, and analytics vendors who process data on our instructions under contract and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes.
- Meta Platforms — hashed event data for advertising measurement, as described above.
- Transport partners — the driver or towing agency collecting your vehicle gets only the address, contact name and number needed to reach it.
- Auction sellers, insurers and financiers — where a vehicle came from them or carries a hypothecation to be cleared.
- Professional advisers, and in a business transfer — legal, accounting and audit advisers, and any acquirer of the business, who would be bound by this policy.
- Where the law requires it — in response to a valid legal order, or to investigate fraud or a threat to safety.
Some of our service providers store data on servers outside India. Where that happens we transfer data only to countries not restricted by the Government of India, and require contractual protections at least equal to those in this policy.
9. How long we keep it
| Record | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Enquiries that do not become a job | Up to 24 months, then deleted |
| Scrapping records, certificates and owner identity proof | The period required by the vehicle-scrapping rules and pollution-control conditions applicable to an RVSF |
| Invoices, payment and tax records | At least 8 years, as required by tax law |
| Website and processing logs | At least 1 year |
| Marketing consent records | Until withdrawn, plus the period needed to evidence the withdrawal |
When a purpose is served and no legal requirement applies, we delete the data or irreversibly anonymise it.
10. How we protect it
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS) across the website and our internal systems
- Encryption at rest for identity documents and payment details
- Role-based access — staff see only the records their job requires, and access to identity and bank details is restricted further
- An append-only audit log of who viewed or changed a record
- Backups, and periodic review of access rights
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.
11. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold — a summary of your personal data and how it has been processed, and who it has been shared with
- Correct or complete it — fix anything inaccurate, incomplete or out of date
- Erase it — where the purpose is served and no law requires us to keep it
- Withdraw consent — as easily as you gave it
- Nominate someone — to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated
- Raise a grievance — and get a reply, whether or not you have taken any other step
Write to info@ldrtraders.com from the email or phone number on your record, or contact the Grievance Officer below. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We respond within 30 days, and in no case later than 90 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
12. Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18, and we do not scrap a vehicle registered to a minor without the guardian's involvement. If you believe a child's data has reached us, write to us and we will delete it.
13. Other websites
This website links to third-party sites such as VAHAN, government portals and social media. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before sharing anything.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell you by email or on this website before it takes effect.
